Corine M. Visscher (1971) graduated as a physical therapist in 1994 from the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2000, she obtained her PhD from ACTA, University of Amsterdam. There, she continued her research on Temporomandibular Disorders, first as a postdoctoral fellow, and currently as assistant professor. In 2005, she received her Master degree in epidemiology from the VU University, the Netherlands. Her research and clinical interests have focused on TMD diagnostics and chronic pain patients. She published over 30 papers in national and international journals such as Pain, Clinical Journal of Pain, and European Journal of Oral Science, and she is a member of the international Physical Therapy Board of Craniofacial and Cervical Therapeutics (PTBCCT). One of her latest research projects concerns a study to the genetics of musculoskeletal pain.
