Dr. Catherine Volgenant graduated cum laude as a dentist in 2009 at ACTA. She started working as a dentist in the general practice, and worked as a teacher at ACTA. In 2016, she obtained her PhD degree at the department of Preventive Dentistry at ACTA on plaque autofluorescence as an indicator of oral diseases. She currently works at ACTA as a researcher at the sections of Preventive Dentistry and Oral Kinesiology and also conducts research on the topic of infection control. She was member of the committee involved in the Infection Control guideline, issued by the KNMT. She is co-author of the book ‘Hygiëne en Infectiepreventie in de mondzorgpraktijk’.
