Dr. Martijn Rosema Martijn Rosema heeft de opleiding tot mondhygiënist gevolgd in Amsterdam en in 1999 afgerond. Sindsdien is hij werkzaam als mondhygiënist bij de sectie parodontologie van ACTA, en tot 2002 ook in een algemene tandartsenpraktijk in Amsterdam. In 2002 heeft hij de overstap gemaakt naar het klinisch wetenschappelijk onderzoek, ook bij de sectie parodontologie van ACTA. Voor diverse externe opdrachtgevers uit de wereld van de mondverzorging heeft Martijn onderzoek gedaan naar o.a. tandenborstels, mondspoelmiddelen en tandpasta’s. Daarnaast was hij van 2009 tot 2015 lid van de accreditatie-commissie van het KwaliteitsRegister Mondhygiënisten (KRM). In 2015 promoveerde hij aan de UvA op het proefschrift “Toothbrushing Efficacy”. Tegenwoordig is hij chef de clinique van de sectie Parodontologie nog steeds werkzaam in de praktijk, en betrokken bij onderzoek en onderwijs.

Martijn Rosema graduated in 1999 as a dental hygienist at the College for Dental Hygiene in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Since then he worked as a dental hygienist in both a general practice and at the university, department of Periodontology of the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). In 2002 he switched the general practice for clinical research at the department of Periodontology at ACTA. Within this setting he worked as a clinical examiner and as project manager and performed clinical research initiated by various companies in the world of oral care. Topics in research are both manual and powered toothbrushes as well as dentifrices and mouthwashes and other oral home care products on which he has given numerous lectures at national and international scientific meetings. In 2015 Martijn defended his PhD thesis “Toothbrushing Efficacy” and to date he has published multiple articles in both national and international scientific journals on dentistry. Currently he is head of the clinic of the department of Periodontology.
