Dr. Michail Koutris (1979) graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Dentistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. In 2007, he obtained his MSc degree in Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction from the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) and in 2013 he successfully defended his PhD at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Michail Koutris is specialised in TMD/Orofacial Pain, Past Chair of the Research Committee of the European Academy of Craniomandibular Disorders (EACD), past Secretary and Treasurer and President of the International Network for Orofacial Pain and Related Disorders Methodology (INfORM), a Network of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR), co-founder of the European Academy of Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction (EAOPD), past chair and current member of the Scientific Committee of the EAOPD. He is currently director of the Clinic and of the Oral Health Science Postgraduate Program of Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction of ACTA. He is working as Associate Professor at the department of Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction of ACTA, as an orofacial pain specialist at the Special Dental Care Clinic of the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Amsterdam University Medical Centre (AUMC), and at the Special Dental Care clinic of Amsterdam (Stichting Bijzondere Tandheelkunde-SBT Amsterdam). He is part-time working as a freelancer Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction specialist in Greece as well.
