Joyce van der Horst has been a dental hygienist since 2004 and studied general health sciences and medical anthropology at the University of Amsterdam. She worked as a teacher at the University of Applied Sciences for dental hygiene from 2007 until 2011. From 2009 until now she is working in the clinic at the department of oral implantology at ACTA preventing peri-implant mucositis and treating peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis non-surgically. She also participates in clinical studies at the department and collaborations with the department of periodontology. Joyce has given several workshops and lectures about these topics inside and outside the Netherlands.
