Prof. dr. Egija Zaura is an Associate Professor in the field of Oral Microbial Ecology at the Department of Preventive Dentistry at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). She holds a degree in dentistry from the Karolinska Institute (Sweden) and the Riga Stradins University (Latvia), as well as a master's degree in General Dentistry from the Riga Stradins University. She obtained her PhD in Preventive Dentistry from the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands). Her current research focuses on understanding oral microbial ecology in both health and disease and translating this fundamental knowledge into clinical practice.
