Dr. Daniela Hesse holds a degree in Dentistry, a Master's degree, and a PhD in Dental Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. During her PhD studies, she completed a research exchange program at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). Currently, she is an assistant professor in the Pediatric Dentistry Department at ACTA and serves on the board of the Dutch Pediatric Dentistry Association (NVvK). Her main research and clinical interests include various types of dental treatment in children, such as Atraumatic Restorative Treatment, the Hall technique, and other minimally invasive therapies. She also conducts research on the treatment of dental developmental disorders, specifically Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation (MIH). Daniela is actively involved in research projects, teaching, and writing in these areas. As a lecturer, she delivers both theoretical and practical courses on pediatric dental treatments within and outside the Netherlands.
