Dr. Dongmei Deng is originally trained as a dentist in China. She successfully defended her dissertation at ACTA in 2004. Since then, she has primarily focused on conducting research, building an extensive and distinguished track record in biofilm control and host-microbe interactions. Besides conducting research, she has also given courses on molecular biology, biofilms and the role of the microbiome in cancer. dr. Dongmei Deng is an Associate Professor at the department of Preventive Dentistry at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). Her expertise bridges fundamental science with clinical applications, offering valuable insights into the future of oral health, disease prevention and microbiome therapy.
