Bio

In 1978, Dr. Geerling Langenbach graduated as a biologist from the University of Leiden. That same year, he started his PhD research at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). In 1992, he successfully defended his dissertation entitled 'Development of Form and Function of the Rabbit Masticatory System' at the University of Amsterdam. Geerling then spent seven years conducting research at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. In 1999, he returned to ACTA at the Functional Anatomy department as a researcher and lecturer. As a researcher, he is mainly interested in the relationship between bone and muscle tissue. As a lecturer, he teaches courses in anatomy, biomechanics and embryology. Geerling has also been Director of Education for the Master's Dentistry program since 2014 and for the Bachelor's program since 2017.
