Dr. Zainab Assy is a dentist and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Oral Biochemistry at the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). From her graduation until 2023, she was a dentist-teacher and worked part-time in a dental group practice. Currently, she is a lecturer at ACTA and works as a dentist in a private dental clinic. Her primary interests are saliva, dry mouth, dry mouth interventions, saliva and dry mouth clinics, and Sjögren’s disease. Zainab is involved in research projects, including supervising PhD candidates, and teaching about saliva and dry mouth diagnostics. Furthermore, she has written several articles on this subject. As a lecturer, she provides both theoretical and practical courses on topics related to saliva and dry mouth.
