Jan-Albert Haverkamp graduated as a dentist from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 1986. At the age of 25, he started his own general dental practice in Nunspeet. Here he gained a great deal of practical experience, including a wide range of further training. Since 2021, he has been working as a clinical dental teacher at the General Dental Care Clinic at the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). Here he conveys his enthusiasm for the versatile profession of dentist to dental master's students and encourages them to use all their talents and continue developing and extending their knowledge. This way, dentistry remains enjoyable, and you develop your best self for the benefit of the patient. Jan-Albert is also responsible for the reintroduction of the EVA-handpiece with abrasive tips at ACTA; a shaping and correction handpiece to ensure proper anatomy and finishing, and to prevent plaque retention at restoration-sites. He is also a great advocate for the use of the treatment microscope in general dental practice.
