Prof. dr. Peter Nolte is an orthopaedic surgeon and was appointed as Professor of Orthopaedics in 2022, with teaching assignment: translational dental research. As an orthopaedic surgeon, he treats patients with hip, knee or foot and ankle issues. His research focuses on disturbed bone healing, osteoarthritis and uncemented total knee arthroplasty. Within the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) he works at the Department of Oral Cell Biology. He is actively involved in translational research on bone and bone-on-a-chip models. Furthermore, he examines the effect of endolysin on staphylococcus infections. Peter has written several articles and book chapters highlighting these subjects. As a lecturer he provides theoretical and practical courses on translational dental research and orthopaedics.
